A tidy, new look for this busy GAS site
GAS 628 Great South Road is one of GAS’ more recognisable Service Stations in the Auckland region.
However, age had started to creep into the station with dim lighting, a cramped, unfocused layout and an overall run-down appearance had given the site an uninviting look and was starting to affect business. The Retailer for 628 Great South Road, Abdul Razaq, approached Jayneil Mistry, the Capital and Refurbishment Manager at GAS Head Office to discuss options for renovation. Jayneil devised a plan and started work towards the end of October 2021, as soon as the lockdown restrictions eased. First, he replaced all the old flooring, ceiling, and shelving inside the store. Jayneil also took the opportunity to install new counters, new heated and chilled food display cabinets, a coffee machine, a drinks fridge, and all new air conditioning in the interior shop. Out on the forecourt, Jayneil added four new Wayne Pump dispensers, for optimal fuel delivery, he also took the chance to upgrade 628 Great South Road’s MID Board to a digital version. Lastly,
LED lighting was installed throughout the store and the forecourt. The store reopened on the 1st of December and has a completely different vibe to it. Now, GAS 628 Great South Road is clean, well-lit and welcoming. The interior is better organized and fitted with all the modern necessities for a Service Station. The forecourt looks tidy and ready to pump through even the busiest days. We can confirm this renovation was a resounding success and Abdul Razaq could not be more delighted with the result.
